Want to learn more about Fredrikstad's history as you wander through the city streets? KulturPunkt gives you access to historical sites, buildings, and stories right on your phone. KulturPunkt offers several themed trails in and around the historic part of the city, where you can explore architecture, local history, and dramatic events right where they took place.

Join a rebus trail about World War II in Gamlebyen, Fredrikstad. The trail starts at the Fredrikstad Museum and takes you through eight stations, where you collect letters to form a solution word. Fredrikstad and Østfold were among the first to be hit when Germany attacked Norway on April 9, 1940, and Gamlebyen still bears traces of five years of occupation. The tour takes about 45 minutes and is suitable for families with children.

Learn about the history of Sarpsborg and Olav's city

Sarpsborg is one of Norway's oldest and most exciting cities. Within a short distance, you will find rock carvings, manor houses, industrial history, medieval ruins, and much more.

The rebus trail starts at Borgarsyssel Museum and consists of seven stations. It takes about an hour to walk, or around 15 minutes by bike, and is well suited for families with children.
