Super fun no matter the weather – at Superland!
At Superland in Sarpsborg, you don’t need to worry about the water temperature before jumping in. The water is warm and inviting all year round. (Paid collaboration with Ille bra blog)
The youngest has been excited all week, and the day has finally arrived! We’re heading to Superland in Sarpsborg.
Superland is part of the Quality Hotel at Grålum, conveniently located just off the E6 motorway. The hotel is one of the country’s largest family and conference hotels and a perfect base if you’re looking for child-friendly holiday experiences close to home this summer.
The Inspiria Science Centre is just a stone’s throw away, featuring a fantastic ocean-themed exhibition worth visiting. A few miles further south along the motorway, you’ll find Norway’s coolest climbing park, Klatring på Grensen in Halden.
It’s also a short drive to Gamlebyen in Fredrikstad and a host of other great activities for kids in Indre Østfold, including The Funny Farm in Hobøl and the trampoline park Sprett in Askim. Or why not try an alpaca walk from Østre Kjernes Gård in Våler?
But today, it’s all about Superland – and we can’t wait! Swimsuits are on, bodies are freshly showered, and expectations are sky-high. The girls are hopping excitedly by the changing room door, eager to dive in. "Hurry up, Mum! Come on!"
"Wow!" They’re left speechless as the door opens to reveal 2,000 square metres of water-filled magic. There are several pools, two water slides, a jacuzzi, a mushroom fountain, plus a space bowl, lazy river, and a water curtain – perfect for soothing sore shoulders or stiff necks.
Superland is open every day, with typical hours running from 9 am to 9 pm. Some days may have different opening times. Naturally, weekends are busier, and prices are slightly higher on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays compared to weekdays.
We visit on a regular weekday afternoon outside of holiday periods and have most of the pools to ourselves. There’s plenty of space and no queues for the slides. We whiz down and splash into the water.
We swim, enjoy the jacuzzi for ages, and stand under the mushroom fountain.
After an hour of play and swimming, hunger starts to set in. Thankfully, Cafe Sulten is on hand, serving food, drinks, snacks, and ice cream. You can choose from pizza, burgers, or hot dogs with fries. A meal hits the spot after all that fun, but the kids are quick to dive back into the pool.
Several tables are set for birthday parties – hosting a celebration at Superland is a popular choice for kids.
If there are multiple adults in your group, you can take a moment to unwind in the waterpark’s dedicated relaxation area.
After swimming, there’s also a small mini-golf course to enjoy. Younger children can explore a fun indoor climbing park with a ball pit, slides, and trampolines.
What’s the verdict? Let me quote the kids: “When can we come back? Can we come again tomorrow?”
Of course, we can come back. We’re lucky to live in Østfold – with everything so close by.
