The Iddefjord

The Iddefjord is a beautiful fjord stretching along the border between Norway and Sweden, from Halden in the north to Berby in the south. It forms part of the natural boundary between the two countries and has a total length of 26 kilometers.

The fjord is divided into two parts, with the outer section known as the Ringdalsfjord.

The rivers Tista and Enningdalselva flow into the Iddefjord, and the area is known for its rich fish stocks and stunning natural surroundings.

Historically, the Iddefjord has been an important center for the stone industry, especially famous for its Iddefjord granite, which was used to create the Monolith in Vigeland Park in Oslo.
