Experience 350 years of Fredriksten Fortress history through sound and visuals!

On the occasion of the 350th anniversary of Fredriksten Fortress in 2011, a historical light show was created. Using video, animations, sound, and lighting effects, the show is displayed on the walls of the inner fortress, between the Eastern Curtain and the Upper Magazine. It takes you on a journey from the construction of the fortress, through times of war, preparedness, and daily life, to the modern era.

The show delivers immense sensory impressions in just 11.5 evening minutes, providing a vivid picture of one of Norway’s most important and versatile fortifications. Since it is presented outdoors, the evening darkness plays a crucial role, and the timing of the show varies depending on the time of year.
