Bathing Spots in Halden

Halden is a beautiful town offering several great swimming spots for both residents and visitors. From sandy beaches with crystal-clear water to idyllic piers and rocky shores, Halden has something for everyone. Here is an overview of some of the locations:

Bakke Camping

At Bakke Camping, you’ll find a beautiful, shallow sandy beach where you can swim and enjoy Iddefjorden. There are benches and tables by the beach. Approximately 14 km from Halden city center.

Engevika

A lovely small sandy beach by Iddefjorden, just 2 km from the city center. Located along the coastal trail.

Isebakkestranda

Sandy beach at Iddefjorden with a large grassy area. There is also a swimming pier, a volleyball net, and a table tennis table. Additionally, there are chairs and tables on the beach.

Krusetertjern

Swimming area with otters and great hiking opportunities, as well as a prepared sandy beach. Facilities include a kiosk, picnic area, toilets, grill, playground equipment, floating pier, and diving board. Approximately 8 km north of Halden along Rv 21.

Kornsjø

At the border bridge at Kornsjø, there is a swimming area with a sandy beach, diving board, and pier. Here, you can swim from Norway to Sweden and back if you like. Approximately 30 km from the city center.

Langholmen Camping

Child-friendly sandy beach, rocky shores, sheltered coves, and grassy slopes, south-facing toward Iddefjorden. About 9 km south of Halden along Fv 220. Located along the coastal trail.

Pina og Grønnbukt på Kjeøya

Nice natural swimming spot on the west side of Kjeøya, just outside Sponvika. Sandy beaches and beautiful rocky shores. Outdoor toilet, mooring pier at Pina, several bunkers, and great hiking opportunities. Located along the coastal trail, approximately 15 km from the city center.

Store Erte

Smooth, worn rocks and a newly developed sandy beach with a picnic area. Facilities include toilets and a floating pier. Approximately 9 km north of Halden along Rv 21.

Svalerødkilen

Long and beautiful sandy beach in Svalerødkilen, near Sponvika. Features playground equipment and toilets. Located along the coastal trail, approximately 15 km from the city center.
